Buchanan County Flood Relief

Buchanan County, Virginia, July 21, 2022- In the wake of the Buchanan County floods, Virginia Oil and Gas Association (VOGA) member companies will be providing 600 hot meals over 2 days at Twin Valley High school in Buchanan County, Va. This is in coordination with the Red Cross who has been providing meals throughout the week.

VOGA Public Outreach Director, Beth Stockner has been in regular contact with United Way, the Red Cross and others. These meals are in addition to specialized, needed equipment and supplies that VOGA has been able to provide over the last two weeks. The association is also planning an industry work day to assist with the rebuilding of the community.

Saturday and Sunday meals will be available for pickup at Twin Valley High School at 11:30 AM for lunch and 5:00 PM for dinner each day. Saturday’s food will be provided by “The Shack” food truck and will consist of Hotdogs (for lunch) and BBQ (for dinner). Sunday’s meals provided by a local caterer will be sandwich wraps (for lunch) and KFC chicken (for dinner).

“Assistance in this region will be ongoing for quite some time. More than 100 homes and businesses were impacted by these floods. Buchanan County is our biggest producing county in Virginia. We have many businesses and employees that live and work there, which have been impacted as well. As an association we are committed to provide aid where we can to our friends, family and neighbors in this area.” Virginia Oil and Gas Association President, Lawton Mullins (Natural Resource Services, Inc).

Thank you to the generosity of current donors: Diversified, CNX, Noah Horn, Enervest, Equitrans Midstream, NRSI, Appalachian Energy, KNL, Gasco, AquaClear, Berkshire Hathaway Energy GT&S.
